   The family

   Name your family in Modern Standard, with the vowels.

   The day

   Say when you get up and that you work, as a habit.

   I wake at seven. I work. I eat at six.

   A real need

   Ask for help and ask them to slow down.

   I need help. Please, speak slowly.

   Say three things that finished yesterday. The vowels leave the line. They stay in the aid.

   Yesterday I worked. I arrived at six. I had dinner at home.

   Say what you are going to do tomorrow.

   غدا سأعمل. سأتصل بأمي.

   Tomorrow I will work. I will call my mother.

   Ask the way and say how you go.

   How do I get downtown? I go on foot. The bus goes downtown.

   Open a call, ask for a person, and leave a time.

   What happened

   Set the scene, then say what finished.

   أمس كانت تمطر. الخروج تأخر. فاتتني الحافلة.

   Yesterday it was raining. The leaving was late. The bus missed me.

    Give an opinion and a doubt. The adjective does not switch mood.

    أظن أن الفكرة جيدة. لا أظن أن الأمر سهل.

    I think the idea is good. I do not think the matter is easy.

    When it breaks

    Say what failed, ask for someone, and move the meeting.

    الإنترنت لا يعمل. هل ترسل أحدا؟ هل نؤجل الاجتماع؟

    The internet does not work. Will you send someone? Can we postpone the meeting?

    Report what a paper said, and refuse a hot take. The verb after أن is subjunctive.

    تقول الصحيفة إن القرار صعب. من المبكر أن نحكم.

    The paper says the decision is difficult. It is early for us to judge.

    Say the email: what you send, what you need, and by when.

    أكتب إليك لأرسل العقد. أطلب ردا قبل يوم الجمعة.

    I write to you in order to send the contract. I ask for an answer before Friday.

    What you mean

    Restate the point and ask if you are wrong.

    إذن، تريد تغيير الموعد. هل أخطأت؟

    So you want to change the appointment. Did I err?

    A hard conversation

    Start with the difficulty, then make one request.

    يصعب عليّ قول هذا. هذا ليس هجوما. أحتاج إلى مساعدة في البيت.

    It is hard for me to say this. This is not an attack. I need help at home.

    Move the argument onto what it is about.
