English grammar

The grammar sits in the sentence you say. It is not a separate game.

Twenty-four classes. You hear the sentence, then you say it. A tap does not pass.

Ninety days are free on English. The other languages do not come with those days. The clock starts when you pass the first sentence.

Then forty dollars keeps English, or sixty dollars opens every language. Paid once. No monthly plan.

  1. 1

    Your name

Hello. My name is ____. I am from ____. Nice to meet you.

English uses am, is, and are. I am from ____. My name is ____. There is no other present-tense shape for this sentence. Goodbye closes it.

  2. 2

    The family

This is my family. I have a brother. My mother is a doctor.

Have for family. Is for the job. A doctor, not doctor, the first time you name the job. His or her before the name: his name is ____.

  3. 3

    The day

I get up at seven. I work. I eat at six.

I get up, I work, I eat. Third person adds -s: she works. You are not talking about her yet. At plus the hour.

  4. 4

    A real need

I need help. Please speak more slowly.

Need plus a noun. Speak is the base form after please. More slowly, not more slow. I do not understand is the honest middle.

  5. 5

    Yesterday

Yesterday I worked. I got home at six. I ate at home.

Worked is regular. Got and ate are irregular. Yesterday can sit first. Do not add did in a plain statement: I worked, not I did work.

    Getting there

How do I is the question with do. On foot or by bus: I walk, I take the bus. The bus goes, with -es, because bus is he/she/it.

  8. 8

    The phone

Hello, this is ____. May I speak to ____? Can you call later?

This is ____ on the phone, not I am ____, though I am is understood. May I is more formal than can I. Speak to plus the person. Call later.

  9. 9

    What happened

Yesterday it was raining. I left late. I missed the bus.

Past continuous for the scene: was raining. Past simple for the plot: left, missed. Do not put every verb in the same form.

  10. 10

    What you think

I think it is a good idea. I do not think it is easy.

  11. 11

    When it breaks

  12. 12

    The work

  17. 17

    What you mean

So you want to change the date. Am I wrong?

So introduces the restatement. Am I wrong puts the verb first because it is a question with be. I did not mean that undoes a bad sentence.

  18. 18

    A hard conversation

This is hard to say. It is not an attack. I need help at home.

  19. 19

    The real issue

This is not about the money. It is about trust.

  20. 20

    The deal

I accept the date if the price does not change. I repeat: you deliver, we install.

If plus the present, does not change, for a real condition. The would form was class 14. I repeat frames two presents. You deliver has no -s because you is not he.

  21. 21

    The joke

With friends, that is funny. At work, I say the plain sentence.

Funny can be warm or sharp. Nothing in the grammar marks the smile. The safe line at work is the literal one.

  22. 22

    The table

To this meeting. May you be well. I am sorry for your loss. I am here if you need me.

To plus the noun is the toast. May you be well is the wish: may plus the base verb. I am sorry for your loss is the set condolence. I am here if you need me is the offer. Do not add advice.

  23. 23

    Any topic

So you are talking about ____. Can you say it more simply? I can explain the idea, not the term.

Are talking is present continuous: the conversation is happening now. More simply is the adverb. Not the term names the limit. I do not know the word is honest.

  24. 24

    The room

My position: we start Monday. The reason: the text is ready. The concession: I accept a review. The step: you confirm today.

Use only patterns from earlier classes. We start is the decision. Is ready agrees with text. I accept is the concession. You confirm today is the step. If you need a new form, go back.
